Biography:
Andrea Freeman joined the Earth Sciences Program in 1997. She is jointly appointed in the Departments of Archaeology, Geography, and Geology & Geophysics. Her Ph.D. dissertation described the relationship between desert stream processes and human subsistence-settlement changes during the middle to late Holocene in the American Southwest. She has also conducted extensive research on Paleoindian (late Pleistocene-early Holocene) geoarchaeology in eastern North America. Currently Dr. Freeman is researching the context of early and middle Holocene sites on the northern Plains. Her research is funded by a SSHRC standard research grant.
